LinkedIn sells your contact info to recruiters. Of course they’ll have layoffs in tech hiring slowdown.

I’m starting to see the LinkedIn layoff posts populate my feed.

Airbnb bady Feb 13, 2023

Yup. Saw several myself. I wonder how massive it really is or if it's just recruiters

LinkedIn ry[in] Feb 13, 2023

Airbnb bady Feb 13, 2023

Why does LinkedIn exist? No tech innovation, just sell your data to recruiters, and you pay for seeing who "reviewed" you. There will be a much better tech to handle this.

The same question for why facebook exists

I don't pay for Facebook, and Facebook is more interesting tbh, it touches a lot of areas like stories, marketplace...Not popular among Gen Z but it works for some people. Place for memories for friends and families. LinkedIn is not, it’s like your resume platform and you pay for it and the posts quality get really mixed nowadays. Too many garbage from strangers liked posts from other strangers. Honestly I care about none of them.

25 years is excellent. I’ve lost my job during EVERY economic downturn. She’s beyond lucky. She has reason to be mad. She needs to put on her big girl pants and get another job.
