Has anyone else noticed their linkedin network recommendations go to shit lately? It used to be amazing how good it was. Recognizing old acquaintances, those in my current workgroup, those I studied with, those I almost forgot I was friends with. Now I scroll through pages and don't know a single person they recommend. Something I noticed correlated with this time is that the number of female recommendations surged, probably at least 5x. It's almost perfectly 50% male/female. I am super pro diversity, but unfortunately my real life network is not so 50/50. Is LinkedIn introducing an artificial diversity quota into their algorithms to promote more women into my network recommendations?
Hm, yeah surprisingly many females there as well. But those could come from having recruiters in connections.
