How much compensation can a software engineer with 1 year experience expect to be offered at LinkedIn after the acquisition by Microsoft in the SF bay area? What about paid time off days? I read some people saying they were offering unlimited days before the acquisition. Will that change? Do you think it's better to work for Microsoft or LinkedIn in the bay area? Thanks!
LinkedIn better. pays more, better perks, relaxed environment.
and no change to LinkedIn after MS aquisition. everything as it was before. no change expected..
Is LinkedIn independent or there is some migration/integration with msft ?
Independent
there are some integrations, but not in traditional style where the aquired company gets re-orged into the integrating team. Microsoft has (so far) let us be independent, where the integrations are more like crossgroup collaboration. we give them our requirements, they give us theirs, and we work to get it integrated that way.
Any ex-amzn in LinkedIn do you like it over there ?
How many vacation days (paid and unpaid) do you get at LinkedIn?
I'm really considering talking to LinkedIn about a Sr Manager / Director role (engineering) but I'm worried about their long term future. LinkedIn folks: any real concerns about the culture changing? How about the recent exodus of execs? Also, is morale generally high about the future success of the products?
what the heck are you talking about? our CTO became MS CTO. MS now offers free food in bay area like we do. if anything, we are changing their culture rather than the other way around. now they are trying to catch up with our salaries. and what exec leaving? we have had the lowest attrition in 2017 than other companies, at exec or engineer level.
What’s your experience level ?
LinkedIn is independent , however I hope Microsoft will become more like LinkedIn soon.
