Average daily mobile screen time?
Hi Blinders, I have linkedin onsite coming up in 3 weeks. Any insights on how the onsite interview would be ? For coding — linkedin tagged is good enough ? For system design — planning to go through grokking the system design and designprimer. I am not sure about how the concurrency round interview would be either ? Please provide me some insights on these and help me with the prep. YOE - 2.5 TC - 150k 🙏🏽 #microsoft #facebook #apple
How was the phone interview ?
2 medium Leetcode tagged questions and some questions on current projects.
LinkedIn tagged ? Last 6 months ?
Which position? For coding, questions were straight from Leetcode for me. For system design, they didn't ask common questions. Fcuk my lyfe, I did great in design by didn't do well in coding and was downleveled to Senior SWE. Don't make this mistake, prepare LC tagged well
Im having 2.5 yrs exp. im interviewing for software engineer - infra role. What role were you interviewed for ?
Staff engineer, infra team That's why design rounds were based on infra/bigdata type questions. For 2.5 yoe, you will get mostly SWE title (not senior)
OP is it fine if I dm you ? I've my LinkedIn screening round this Tuesday.
Were you told there would be 6 rounds? I have heard people getting 7 rounds too
Im yet to get details on it.
Get ready for an engineer with 3 months of experience who spends his/her time writing google docs and not coding or designing systems, to interview you on system design. Most likely they'll memorize a question from the repository available internally and expect you to not deviate from their memorized answer, otherwise they themselves will be lost.
LOL.. I felt that in phone screen. The interviewer with 1 yoe seemed to be interested in a particular approach for that problem. He tried to prove me wrong when I was discussing a different approach. Finally I coded the approach that he liked though I had better solution.
Same experience. Any deviation results in confusion. I tried to improve my solution with DP but the interview was REALLY confused and said my brute force solution was good enough. Ultimately passed the on-site though.
LOL
How was the interview?
Hey Can I DM you
How long did it take to hear back after the tech screen ? Thanks
Did you recently interviewed?
Yes
By grokking the system design u mean the book or educative lectures(paid aren't they) ?
Educative lectures
Grokking system design can be got for free. Search in google. No need to buy.
