Hey all Have my LinkedIn onsite coming up in a couple weeks. I'm interviewing for the SWE position. First things first, my phone screen exp: Had two LC medium. Both LI tagged on LC. Interviewers were nice and friendly. Now my questions... I read a few threads saying LC tagged questions are enough for coding rounds. Is that still the case? Can anyone with recent interview experience give some idea? Coming to Sys Design. I don't have any experience with sys design rounds. Planning to go through grokking the sys design course. And maybe some YouTube vids. Is that enough? What kind of questions should I be expecting? LC tagged questions are still valid for onsites. Grokking sys design should be a good prep material but be prepared to design systems outsode the book.
How important is sys design for entry level positions? I have seen people being down leveled if they don't do well on sys design rounds. Where does that leave junior folks?
Usually pretty forgiving for newer folks. Don’t bullshit is the main thing. Don’t say “I’m going to use a NoSQL dB” because you think it’s what they want to hear. They’ll ask “why? Which one?”. Only say things that actually make sense to you and that you have knowledge about
Expect hard questions for coding rounds
Pay someone to coach you on system design. One of the few 20x investments available to you.

Sure
I just gave my onsite this week and it was all dynamic programming hard LinkedIn tagged from leetcode. I wish I had prepared from that set only. Sad to see dp problems used to evaluate candidates, those hardly provide any insight to a candidates thinking.

If it is for infra team read ddia book replication and partioning chapters
Which teams categorize as infra teams?
The recruiters will say if it is for infra/application track. Usually teams such as espresso, liquiD etc will be infra
