How important do you think LinkedIn profile is for job search? I have a profile but nothing much in it except the companies I worked for.
I have a mostly empty linkedin profile (no photo, bio, description of previous roles) and only include the jobs I’ve been at, but I’ve used linkedin to get my last three jobs in one way or another (reach out to recruiter, apply directly via LinkedIn). So, for me slightly important? Like it doesn’t have to be a good profile but having one at all has helped.
Optimizing your LinkedIn profile is kinda cringe but it really does help in terms of increasing visibility to recruiters
Copy paste your resume on there so you pop up in more searches and recruiters contact you
Well buffed LinkedIn will attract a lot of recruiters so it's to your advantage. If you're actively searching for jobs you want to maximize chances by opening both inbound and outbound
Make sure you have keywords in the profile that you want to highlight.
I have a pretty basic linked in profile, never had premium and don’t really use those features now that I have it. It is not going to make a major difference.
