BREAKING: Internal sources confirm another round of layoffs just hit emails at Tesla. For real.
It's almost been a couple of months since I was verbally rejected from LinkedIn onsite process for Sr. SWE. I got an email from the same recruiter asking whether I am still interested and they have clearer sense of headcount now. Does that mean it's a good sign or they are just going to downlevel me to SWE.
I got rejected from a Sr. SRE role because they wanted someone with more architecture experience. My module was to "design reddit's infrastructure". Apparently distributed event-based service architecture isn't up to par. The interviewer had a bad attitude the entire time and argued with me. I'm 80% sure they are the sole reason I wasn't extended an offer. One of the other interviewers reached out to me and said that last they heard, I was going to receive an offer.
Why would an interviewer randomly reach out to say that? I don’t buy it.
They reached out to me because we had discussed an open source project we both contribute to, as we learned during the lunch module. I mentioned that I wasn't made an offer, to which they replied something along the lines of "that's a bummer to hear, last I heard we were extending you an offer"
Will be an offer
Btw what are you doing at Tintri?
good question :) should have taken this decision much before. Guess I am too lazy to switch :(. However, even in this bankruptcy situation and DDN acquisition, I still believe in and love the product.
Did the recruiter indicate the level? You may have not met the Sr. Swe level bar and that is why you got rejected. As far as I know there was no/very minimal Swe headcount last quarter so that is most likely why you got rejected. But given it’s a new fiscal year we have Swe headcount. The recruiter is maybe asking to see if you are interested in the Swe level. Best advice is to speak with the recruiter?
They gave me verbal acceptance couple of months ago. Haven’t done team match yet. Their way of operating is pissing.
