Hi Blind, I was just wondering what you think is a better choice. I recently received offers from Amazon and LinkedIn, and I am leaning towards going to Amazon because of my interest in deep learning. However, the TC difference even with COL adjustment is quite large. AWS AI (Seattle) - 160K ML Engineer Pros - VERY interesting product and deep learning opportunity, close friends in the city, working with ML researchers Cons - possibly bad wlb, little annual raises, 401k vesting after 3 years, fewer holidays LinkedIn AI (Sunnyvale) - 240K SWE Pros - great compensation, great perks, end-to-end ownership, holidays Cons - suburbs can be boring, no friends in the area, work doesnt seem very interesting Both opportunities are quite a step up for me, so I would be excited to join either. I calculate LinkedIn is worth 50K more with perks minus COL adjustments, and this will allow me to pay off my student loans faster. But I also feel like the growth at Amazon in the future outweigh this difference. EDIT: This is before negotiation and both levels are entry positions. (L4 and SWE) YOE 2.5 TC 105
LinkedIn would be a no brainer for me
