Lot of chatter on internal forum on this specific date for layoffs. Previous blind predictions came true so this one might too. I heard anywhere between 10% 30% in engineering chopped with stingy severance. Don't make the mistake of joining linkedin after jobs open up post layoffs. Culture has gone to the dogs. More hectic than meta with roku pay. Perks have been cut and I see core perks like free food ending soon. Leadership throwing reports under the bus and rope handlers like directors putting unduly pressure on their teams. TC 350k Staff 17yoe
Damn. Add that to the list of companies that used to have good culture that are now turning toxic. Atlassian Roblox LinkedIn Anything else?
I dont think they'll stop free food. That's a cheap way to get people to rto.
No, lay off is cheaper.
The whole purpose of RTO is to get people to quit without severance. They don't actually give a shit where you work from.
Is it org specific? Is company wide? Isn't their ad business doing well?
Rumor has it that it’s company wide but Eng to get smacked hard. Full transparency though that the counter argument has been they just plan on announcing mass re-orgs, not layoffs. So remains to be seen what is true. But LI Blind is typically accurate about these kind of things
The percentage sounds way too high. Strategy shift? Ai cost? Pressure from Satya?
Ouch at your TC, $320k here at Sr level. Can confirm all points OP made. Stay away, toxic af.
Microsoft culture all the way getting into LinkedIn now. I still don’t get it, why do you need 20k employees for a pos social networking crap?
Common. Google can’t even build a decent product and still hires thousands of engineers to build craps. LOL your poor claim could also apply to meta or any other tech companies. Let’s why the bar in google is getting lower and lower. Common. Google is just a website🤣
Id imagine linkedin uses azure. So the infra is all taken care of by Microsoft. 20k employees beyond that indicates extraordinary bloat and empire building..
Can confirm what OP said.
Can confirm our culture has gown downhill and is toxic. We used to be one of the best in the Bay Area and now it’s just politics, PIPs, reorgs and no transparency. Stay away from LinkedIn to protect your mental health. I’m actively interviewing and can’t wait to leave. Our leadership keeps trying to spin every negative news as positive. We work on GAI projects that have nothing to do with what our users need
To add on to the can confirm. Yes. LinkedIn is toxic now. 1) 10% forced pip for last 2 perf cycles. 2) All management promos on hold 3) Rumors of management flattening 4) limited budget for even promos. 5) no refreshers even if exceeding 6) ex Amazon managers doing Amazon things.

That percentage sounds way way too high. Have you implemented more strict pip quotas?
10% during mid year and annual review each last year. Strictly enforced. Not everyone end up getting fired though. Some come out successful.
We should fire those. No point keeping those while firing people who never got on PIP to begin with.
