Is this another digital health flash-in-the-pan? Or for real? They inked a big deal with Walmart. And couldn’t they have came up with a better name? “Transcarent”?? https://www.forbes.com/sites/alexknapp/2022/01/11/digital-health-startup-transcarent-just-raised-200-million-to-grow-its-concierge-medical-business/?sh=433f1b492032
Don’t mix utility of a solution with funding. VCs are betting big on this repeat founder to make them 10x+
Who?
Most digital health solutions cost the employer a set fee per employee. This doesn’t cost the employer anything — transcarent claims - “hey, our integrated solution is so good you’ll definitely save on health care costs. So we’ll just take a cut of that savings.” I think the business model is game changing - but I haven’t seen the product or have any sense if it has any unique competitive advantage.
If they have Walmart as a partner then this not just a flash in the pan?
