Hi, I have an interview coming up with Lockheed Martin at Mount Laurel, NJ. Problem is this role seems heavy in Java/C/C++ while my experience is in Web Dev (1 year). The first interview is with a panel of 6 and I think I will be deeply roasted. How should I prepare? TC: Laid off peasant #engineering #software #hiring
Can you reverse a string?
Sure thing, gnirts 😊
Interview will be easy, especially for low level it will have little to no technical other than explaining your experience. So as long as you can talk about everything on your resume you're good. As far as back end vs front end; they gave you an interview after seeing your resume so they know your qualifications and must be okay with them.
If it's that easy then why are some people getting rejected? Not questioning your comment, just want to hear your opinions
Whenever I've been involved in interviews the primary reason for rejecting is that their experience isn't super applicable to what we do and/or they didn't seem to know as much as their resume led us to believe. Sometimes we give someone an interview if we think there could be overlap in experience and we aren't quite sure and need them to elaborate in which case them not getting the job is no fault of their own. This is rarely the case for entry level positions though as experience isn't all that important. For entry level positions it's just most important that you be able to talk in detail about the experience you have and sound competent. It's not expected that your experience overlaps. For example when I was first hired it was for a Java position and I hadn't even touched Java before.
Personally, I’ve never heard of an interview panel with 6 people @LM. I say that as someone who’s interviewed hundreds of people to work for LM but never worked at that particular site. Don’t overthink it & good luck!
I was judging off of the invite list, which has 6 names (excluding me). No idea how many will be present in the interview
My friend works there, the work is easy/lax, it’s a mil contractor. I’d be shocked if the interview was tough
