Canceling debt isn’t inflationary or costing tax payers
Title- and same question for Northrop Grumman! I see some positions at both that are a good fit, I was wondering if folks there could be able to refer if they actually would hire full remote (the specific positions indicate they can be, but not sure if that is true in practice). Also wondering if you have any thoughts on current culture in these firms. It seems like a good career option for US citizens in these unstable times to work on interesting projects albeit with lower pay than big tech. #lockheed #lockheedmartin #northropgrumman #lhm #ngc
Dod contractors have a ton of actual full remote jobs. Just depends on project
There are a lot of remote workers in Northrop now but the corporate is very actively pushing RTO/Hybrid. Some divisions even start reclassifying remote workers and downgrade their paybands if they were tied to an HCOL office location
Happened to me 😔
Wlb usually pretty good in defense contracting world. Lower pay, but that’s the trade-off for a balanced lifestyle
How is job security?
I’d say if you are on a contract working with a gov entity, you aren’t really affected by the economy per se and more likely to survive. Meaning the funds have already been appropriated. If you hold a high active clearance like a TS/SCI with a poly, you shouldn’t have too much trouble going from contract to contract assuming you have the skills needed to take on a role
We do have full remote positions in certain business area where the security clearance is not required.
Can I DM you?
I've been on a fully remote position at LM since 2019, and my manager has been fully remote for about 15 years now. It just depends on the business area and team. Although there has been a push recently to have employees go in the office for collaboration events or, in some cases, once a week. In terms of culture, I've been lucky to work in great teams for the 10 years I've been with LM so I am biased to say it's a great culture with smart people that truly care about you as an employee. And as you probably already know, the pay is low even in the best of cases compared to any FAANG.
Hey, can I DM for a referral for your org if possible? Would love an opportunity like this
You'd have to be fairly senior and have prior experience in that area to have a shot.
