Long Second onsite- what does it mean?

For senior roles, have you had companies call you for 2nd onsite interview of 4+ hours after the first one lasting that long? What does it mean?

I heard Apple does something like that often. Is that who you’re interviewing with?

That means they don't have their shit together. If you have options I recommend not moving ahead with them. Frankly I would've not done the second on site specially if they did not told you about it ahead of time

Yes, did not tell me ahead of time. I am reading it as, they are on the fence and are indecisive. I am seeing it as a red flag - they may be weak decision makers about goals and projects too! Am I over reacting?

@LinkedIn, not true. It could mean the position requires interaction with various skate holders across the company and could mean that they need everyone of those people to get a feel of the person because the person interacts with them on a bi-weekly basis and there is significant work to be done.

Probably screening for a different team if this is non faang.

This is not true. I know for sure.

If you were interviewing with a specific team, it could also mean they didn’t see you as a strong fit for that team. The second interview would be with people from a more suitable team.

I did 2 on sites for apple for same team. Second one included sr mgmt

I did an interview with robinhood once where they rejected me the first time and then called be back again for the second time after a month or two.. and even the second time they wanted me to come to their office twice to talk to the team (had already visited their office twice the first time) Rejected it without going onsite the “4”th time Although i would not mind a phone interview after onsite if the team is on the fence

They'll waste your time. They're going to have someone in the next review reject because they cannot judge your profile correctly and interviewed initially with the wrong goal in mind.

It means you weren’t consistent on the first one and they want a second opinion because your experience looks good. Or it could also mean key people who were supposed to interview you were unavailable and you got replacements the first loop and they want to make sure you’re a hire. Usually it’s a good sign. Do well on the second one and it’s probably a hire.
