The SaaS startup life is getting real. Anxiety is high. PIP is my life now. 30 days or GTFO. The guidelines for PIP are mostly all subjective except the part about hitting quota for the month. Ironically I’m on track for the year and they just offered me a promotion. Turned down the promotion because they wanted me to do my boss’s job and continue to do my job and hit quota with only 🥜 for a raise. Looking for a job like it’s my job but in the meantime… SaaS startup or Uber/Lyft? YOE: 1.5 TC: 75k
did you delete and repost this?
Only because the question did not properly articulate my concern
looks the same other than scrapping the “be your own boss” part… i wrote a bunch of advice in the previous post. what is your current role?
Sounds like you are trolling. In the remote chance that you are serious, consider the following. 1/ how would you cover your healthcare and other essential coverage 2/ PIP on startup is rare in product, most of the time it is just GTFO note. Stay in the payroll as long as you can if they are really giving you time to improve. With your YOE, it is better to keep learning where you are while preparing for the next gig.
not everyone is an engineer…
Definitely not trolling. The only real concern here is healthcare. To that point: I think I can safely be on cobra for a month or two. I have about 7k in savings and while Uber might not earn me 40$ an hour like I’m making now, it could provide enough to make my savings last for a while. The only real healthcare expenses I have are meds (all generics) and therapy. Could skip therapy for a few weeks. Nbd. Otherwise. If that’s the biggest downside you can think of… it doesn’t sound so bad If nothing else, I’m less stressed about the potential of not having a job because we just covered what could be the worst case scenario and it’s not that bad unless I’m missing something incredibly important
Hang in there. Maximize what you get out of them while buying more time to look for another role.
Doesn't driving for Uber/Lyft end up paying less than minimum wage?
I know a few people doing it full time. Came from Saudi. Doing fine
nope, airport trip 30min for 50$, 2x in 90min all day
