So Citibank decided to “simplify” my banking by removing one of the conditions to qualify for a free account. I’m looking for another bank that won’t screw me over. Ideally - no monthly fees - don’t require direct deposit - earns interest (if available) - a financially sound company Any recommendation?
Credit Unions are cheaper and more personalized than banks. Try First Tech or another local credit union.
Capital One is quite good to me.
Ally “Spending” checking account. Online only. Free checks. Earn 0.1% interest.
Capital One
Schwab
Join your local FCU. Fuck the banks
Schwab is great if you don’t need branch. Another option if you have investments is BOA. Can easily qualify for preferred status if you keep >20k in connected Merrill account. I just moved ETF I had sitting in Schwab to Merrill to take advantage of perks.
Wealthfront or Marcus Wealth front is offering 5%
Thank you! I used to have it for savings but didn’t know this is a combo account.
