Haven't got a single bite from anything software engineering/project or program management related positions. Applying for everything between small start ups and big established companies ranging from 0-3 YOE. Looking to see if I can change anything to make it more appealing to recruiters Disclaimer: No, I don't have any projects. Just work experience. TC: Whatever unemployment is paying nowadays #tech #softwareengineer #projectmanager #resume #softwareadvice
Education: - Bullet 1 could introduce bias, remove “first generation”. Idk what SEEK scholar means but if it’s impressive, describe it briefly (6-10 words) - Is membership of that charter difficult or impressive? If not, remove. - Put education at the bottom Professional: Format for bullets should be something like: “Achieved [business outcome, ideally with numerical metric] by doing [thing]” Most of your bullets read like: “I used X tech” “I worked on Y product” “I did Z thing”. There is no reference to the impact you had, the value you brought to the business/team/customers, your behaviours, your ability to overcome challenges.
Really appreciate the time you took to review and comment, thanks. Great points, will make those changes
No problem. Good luck.
You say you provided technical expertise in those projects but don’t say what you actually did or what was the outcome.
Move your education to the bottom… if it’s at the top, you look like a recent grad… and most companies aren’t looking for those these days
Appreciate the response, thanks!
