Tired of job hopping and want to settle, but can't find a place where I want to.. Is there a company that fits my criteria for frontend/ux engineers? Must haves: - Work closely with product/UX. Engineers participate in user studies, have easy access to user metrics, and decisions are made through a combination of quantitative/qualitative data. - Collaborative culture. Knowledge sharing is actively done through tech talks/workshops/pair programming - Team is open to suggestions / experimentation whether it is product (let's try A/B testing), tech (try making a demo/PR), process (let's try that next sprint) related - Promotion process is transparent - Sane and flexible working schedule (don't mind late nights now and then but not constantly) - Organizational KPIs/goals are clearly communicated top down - Minimal ops load - Ideally pay is $200-250k for mid level is Seattle or $250-300k in SF/LA Current TC: $190k YOE:4 #airbnb #stripe #snap #tiktok #facebook #linkedin #pinterest #lyft #uber #doordaah #robinhood #coinbase #twitter #box #dropbox #roblox #databricks

I think what you're looking for will be in flux. Culture is maintained by the people in it and the people leading it. People change jobs, and so unless the critical mass of the team also settles, then a great team may become a good team or even a bad team and vice versa depending on who stays or leaves. I'm not saying you shouldn't look for such a place, but rather you will eventually need to know how to build and foster such an environment if you actually do settle somewhere. I invested greatly to build what you describe where I am now, and am leaving for another company next month with the expectation that I'll probably have to build it again.
Lucky for your teammates. Much respect 👏
