These are the investments I hold: S&P 500 ETFs (SPY & VOO): 60k$ Nasdaq ETFs (QQQ & ONEQ): 80k$ Russell 2000 ETFs (VTWO & IWM): 24k$ MSCI World Index ETF (VT & URTH): 15k$ Corp bonds index with bonds that are barely investment grade (VCLT): 25k Misc stocks(MSFT, FB, DIS, CGC, F): 8k$ I am 28 years old. I don't plan on withdrawing the money for the next 10 years or so. Every 15 days I Invest about 2,500$ in my portfolio. Ideally the composition I am attempting is 45% Nasdaq, 35% S&P 500, 10% corp bonds, 10% Russell 2000 + MSCI World. (1) Don't ask me why I own two different ETFs for the same index. (2) I can buy a total stock market ETF like VTI or something, but they grow too slow. Hence I split up my investment into multiple ETFs like this. (3) I am considering selling off some of the Russell 2000 ETF and MSCI World ETF and some misc stocks and investing that money in GLD & REITs What else can I do to improve my portfolio and manage my money better? I think this seems good. I’m the same age and my main regret is not investing aggressively enough. I’d maybe add a small percentage in gold and bitcoin.
I cannot invest in Bitcoin, unfortunately. Can you recommend any Gold ETF?
GLD is the largest and most liquid ETF. You can read more about debates between buying physical gold vs other etfs but in general GLD should track with the price of gold fairly well.
I like reits at the moment. I think WFH won’t have a huge impact 5-10 years from now and that office space will be in demand
Which REIT etf would you recommend?
I do bkrdx and vnqi. I like how diversified they are. Downturn surprised me how they dropped like the rest of the market yet residential real estate held up so well. They should be paying a solid payout into the future, at least 5-10% I’d assume
Feedback is dependent on your goals and risk tolerance. I would be much more aggressive at 28, but that’s me. What are your goals?
What do you recommend as a more aggressive portfolio?
I am trying to raise a million dollars for the EB5 visa in the next 3 to 4 years. Considering the fact that I have to pay a lot of taxes on my gains, I think my target is to raise 1.1 to 1.2 million roughly speaking. Having said that what would be a more aggressive portifolio?
What I've heard and liked is that diversification is for wealth preservation, not creation. I might put more in tech but that's just personal preference
Well, I am skewed towards NASDAQ. Maybe in the future, I will sell some of those stocks and invest in AMZN, AAPL, MSFT more.
