Hello Blind, I am an engineer with 10 years of experience. My titles have been, in order: - SWE/Senior SWE (4 years, at a 2k people company) - Principal engineer (2 years, at a 200 people startup) - Engineering manager (2 years, at a 200 people startup) - Chief Architect (2 years, at a 40 people startup) I am interested in distributed systems, low level programming, Linux, and in general all infra stuff. I would like to apply at a new company and would like to maximize my TC this time, since so far I always optimized for experience, which allowed me to lead the design of significant systems, but at a pay level comparable to an entry level FAANG engineer. What companies would you recommend I look into, and what positions? Could it be worth looking at finance (e.g. hedge funds like Citadel) or stick with FAANG? Of course I don't know if I would pass any, but applying is free. FWIW a few years ago I passed both Google and FB interview at an E5 level. I didn't accept back then. Thanks! TC: 400k
400k tc is not low. You can try E6, L6 at google or facebook.
Do you think production engineering is worth it at FB? I looked at the job description and sounds really fun!
I don't know much about production engineers. I think you should try swe.

I should have specified that this time I am looking for liquid compensation, so just public companies or private companies paying all cash. I played the startup lottery a bunch of times already, I have several tickets :)
Curious if any of your tickets have paid off?
