My 100 cents. Don't go consulting, unless you are very very desperate about your H1-B status. No location constraints, good. Indeed, Hired, LinkedIn are excellent sources for job openings for fte. If you have a list of preferred companies, go to their career pages, apply, then find a recruiter on LinkedIn and pursue them until they can get you a phone interview. Research is more important than mastering anything at this point in career. LC and plenty of mock behavioral practice, again research should be the focus. ATB - all the best.

It is better to go for FTE... at this situation, don’t go for consulting even though rates may be tempting... I recently got an offer for FTE... this is what I followed, Took a list of all full time/direct client type companies who sponsor visa... used both job sites & myvisajobs site... then did a quick prep & took interview with some consulting companies for interviews experience... then applied FTE for those companies who sponsor visa... also networked with friends on big 4 consulting companies for referrals... tried in that order such Full time client then big 4 consulting firms and got an offer from full time client... waiting for visa transfer process...
