Looking to learn new backend stack for iOS
Looking to switch up my backend stack mobile development, currently used to MySQL, PHP, Linux based web server for hosting. Any recommendations? Looking at maybe Firebase? Need something that’s cheaper to start with, easy to scale, preferably SQL based.

Just confirming, this can be used free initially right?
Cloud SQL you pay for the instance. You can pick a lightweight machine for dev work which should be pretty cheap. No free tier, but when I was starting a project I was paying ~$5/month for the project as a whole. Pretty sure there is a $300 first time credit available as well. Everything on the Firebase side has a generous free tier.
