My FIRE target was to reach 4 Million by 2028 and retire in a LCOL place. I achieved it 6 years earlier in March this year due to crazy boom in both stocks and with my RE portfolio. I didn't plan it since it was sudden and I thought that in next one year, I will plan my retirement and get things in order. The downturn started, my NW dropped to 2.7 Million (32% drop). There is also inflation, which makes me think that I should raise my target to 4.5 Million. Now, I don't think that 2028 is even possible. What could I have done differently to preserve my FIRE money? TC - 450K (dropped from 650K) Edit - Age - 44, YOE - 20, Married/2 Kids.

The end of Backdoor Roth?!
Bitcoin
Terrible advice lol this guy is getting wrecked by volatility and your answer is "add more volatility"
Buy Bitcoin pre hyper inflation
You poor thing

Don’t be greedy, you hit your goals just take it and go with your plan. It okay everyone learn from mistakes
Can you give me $200K so your NW is rounded to $2.5M? You can easily make 4.5 with your talent and caliber.
The only thing that may destroy u is divorce, so rather make sure it doesn't happen
Only in a western country that has messed up divorce laws
Hindsight is 20/20 lol, what sort of a question “what could I have done differently?” is? As for what you should be doing now, let me grab my crystal ball 🔮
Stonks go down
Stinks go down. Stonks go up.
Stock market is volatile for everyone. I'm sure by 2028 your portfolio will recover. Keep in mind tho even after you retire there will be more market swings. We loved through an unprecedented decade long period of low inflation and a federal discount rate of 0%-0.25%. Low interest rates inflated asset prices and caused a misalignment in expectations about the stock market that could never be sustained forever
By 2028, your 4.5 million will be worth 1.5 million
Nice humble brag. We both know you’re not actually looking for real answers 😂
what’s humble brag about this? the dude has a $4M NW at 44 which isn’t that great if you invested consistency and maintained tech TC.
Ya, think if $4M is shitty at 44, $2.5M at 44 is the pool of shit.💩
