Low Balled - LinkedIn?

Got an offer for a Tech Consultant role. Fairly extensive tech knowledge required (api, sso to LMS integration). The offer came in much lower than expected and it’s lower than all the offers received for a similar role. $95k base (seems incredibly low) 10% bonus $20k rsu (FB and Google give at least $75k starting) Is this a lowball offer or typical for this role at LinkedIn? Thank you!

Looks fair to me. It is TC not SDE

Thank you, what is SDE. For context, this is for someone with 10+ years experience. I’m not sure the internal level of the role.

Yea, know nothing about linked in but that seems crazy low

Amazon jinkching Jun 14, 2019

You currently make lesser at fb than what LinkedIn has to offer? That's weird

Facebook hQsm82 OP Jun 14, 2019

No, this is for someone else.

Why don’t you apply for a SWE role? You’ll make at least twice or more

LinkedIn stierlin Jun 14, 2019

What is a Tech Consultant role? Is it a partner engineer? LinkedIn usually reserve high TC for SWE but I’ve never heard of a Tech Consultant.

LinkedIn lGOh70 Jun 14, 2019

Is that $20K over 4 years? That’s the same offer I got as an Analyst for 1 YOE in a Finance role. Definitely low balled or it’s not a valued position at LinkedIn.

Seems like an L2 offer for a non tech role. I’ve never heard of that job before though unless they call it differently in a job post

LinkedIn stierlin Jun 14, 2019

Just checked our jobs site and our internal referral site. There’s no position called Technology Consultant. So unless this is a partner engineer role (which get paid way higher), or some obscure HR, sales or IT role, this person is either being dishonest or talking sh1t. Considering the person uses the term LMS it’s either in HR or in sales. If so, this is the kind of offer they would give with someone with 1-2 yoe.

I believe it’s this position... Technical Consultant – Learning Solutions https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/view/1263296336 JD shows 3+ yoe for tech implementation so definitely low

LinkedIn stierlin Jun 15, 2019

So it looks like a Sales/CSM role. So I was right, it is some obscure sales role. If they offer something that low that means the talent pool is large. Or HR benchmarked against the wrong position. But 3+ yrs is still pretty junior, no? LI pays way above the industry benchmarks so I would say this role typically pays low.
