Why no one cares about the lives lost in Gaza, Israel and busy in their own lives?
I am looking for some low risk investment? I heard vanguard etf is a safe play, any other good alternatives out there. Not looking for real estate thx
Vanguard equities are as risky as the underlying index it is tracking. They are great funds for reasons called out by tw8867 above.. but they are NOT low risk. If you're looking for safe play; savings, money market, short term bonds, or cds are ideal. Assuming you're within the federal insurance levels for respective mediums.
I believe we are entering into a recession so hold cash and Gold ETF.
Yeah, we will enter a recession some day. It could be tomorrow, a week from now, a month from now, a year from now, or several years away. Going cash & gold might hurt it the current status stays for long. I'd not change my plan & stick to whatever mix I have had since a decade. Unless you can predict WHEN we will enter regression with certainty, this is non actionable advice.
VCIT, VTIP, VIG.
Buy LinkedIn stock. You'll get 3% returns in the next 6 months assuming the sale to Microsoft goes thru ;)
Really? Source?
It's public knowledge that Microsoft has committed to buying lnkd at 196 a share. That's more than 3% above the current price of 189

Vanguard is one of the best, because of how low the fees are. Low fees is absolutely key. 0.10% on a Vanguard fund vs 1.00% on another fund makes a huge long term difference, and performance of the "managed" funds will almost always be less than the delta between the two.
Which vanguard fund do you recommend specifically?
Depends on what you want, your time horizon, and a bunch of variables. Right now (as people have noted below) lots of volatility, so might not recommend stocks at all. However, typically I'm in a blend of US large (VFIAX), US small (VSIAX), international large (VTMGX), and with some emerging markets (VEMAX) exposure. https://investor.vanguard.com/mutual-funds/list?WT.srch=1#/mutual-funds/asset-class/month-end-returns Not sure if those are the specific ones I use, but good starting point for research.
