Yesterday protestors stormed the legislative building, defaced the inside, and draped the British colonial flag over the speaker's podium. Will this cause anything to change for Hong Kong?
Other protestors are supporting the government to suppress them.
Hk should just accede to India and become a union territory
Lol what? They're not even satisfied with their tax dollars going to help mainland development, why would they want to shackle up with a different ethnicity, language, culture and also see more of their taxes go to poorer provinces?
Idealogically aligned. Union territories pay lower taxes and just contribute to federal programs, though gst collections would probably offset development in other states. Hk housing an Indian Naval base would be the biggest FU to china and guarantee hk’s freedom/way of life. That or becoming a japanese prefecture.
Those young protesters just makde it to a riot yesterday. So bad for normal HK people!
Commies in China are especially bad with people like them. They’ll use a lot of force to make them Chinese.
Hopefully China will not send their tanks to Hong Kong to run over people
They don't need. Just do what US does is more than enough.
They might win reforms if they make themselves ungovernable despite repression. But If they were in coalition with strikers in industrial mainland areas, they might win a revolution.

Job market is brutal for SWEs 🥲
If anything, they've damaged their own legitimacy by draping the British flag instead of an independent HK flag. Gives so much juicy propaganda material for the Chinese government to discredit these protesters.
Saw that picture. I wonder which idiot thinks that it's better to be colonized
Yeah... it is probably already used by the pro-Chinese media somewhere to attack Hong Kong. Hong Kong is pretty much a Mainland Chinese colony now, ruled by the Chinese government. When I was at school, I heard so much bullshit about how strong China had become, and we should be proud of our motherland (祖國). I hear that both at school and in the media. They were, and still are, exaggerated and sensationalized as ever. We also hear Chinese officials bullshitting about imaginary foreign forces trying to destablize Hong Kong all the time. I am too young to have lived in British Hong Kong, but I have definitely seen how famous movies and shows portrayed the Hong Kong handover in 1997 (逃學威龍3, 棟篤笑秋前算帳). They were very negative toward the handover. So yes, between the Chinese and British, I would choose the British.
