Lucid Motors air vs Tesla Model S? Thoughts?

Lucid launched their cheapest car for $77,400 ($69,900 after federal rebate)and just after that Tesla slashed their model S price to $69,420(typical Elon Musk:)) reducing it by more than $5k in a single day. Is Lucid first real competitor to Tesla in luxury space EV market? Wanted to hear some thoughts from #Tesla or #Lucid engineering folks.

I like it. Telsa needs more competitors. Cuz their interiors are trash.

Nikola gravitational truck.

No. Lucid has had so many maintenance issues that the cars are basically worthless after the first few years. Until they can build a vehicle that isn’t a flimsy piece of cardboard, stick with Tesla.

Uhh...Lucid hasn’t sold any cars yet buddy. Don’t know what you’re talking about

Who are there people, lol 😂 we did not start selling the cars yet!

Lucid is ugly. And doesn’t have the headstart in battery tech Tesla has. Wait for the refresh of the S. It will be even cheaper. Lucid is unproven

Lucid Motors Newarkfox Oct 15, 2020

Lucid started as battery tech company (and still is), supplies battery packs and Sw to Formula E. Tesla was unproven as well.

I agree... To reach where Tesla is today... It took them nearly 10 years with their first car (roadster) was not successful either. Tesla was unproven back then.

There was no reason for Tesla to lower the prices now as Lucid is not delivering their car anytime soon. They could have reduced the prices in few months to show that they saved cost in manufacturing and hence passing it to customers. By lowering the prices now, it shows that they got scared by performance numbers from Lucid.

It’s still time for Lucid Air deliveries to start. But this is the first time Tesla is being ‘reactive’ to another car maker. That really should be a positive sign that Lucid is doing something right
