Lemonade home insurance?
What you do you think about Lemonade home insurance? As a tech guy I'm not afraid have to quote on my own, but can I trust this carrier vs those traditional and older carrier? It's 25% cheaper with same coverage Which insurance do you use? DFW, TX area
Same as intel- cheapest quote and super convenient. Have not made any claims.
Used their renters insurance - convenient, not cheap.
The value of a human is they can sometimes do more to help get your claim taken care of. Not always obviously, but it's easier then arguing with a computer lol

I use brokers, they typically have relationships with different carriers.
First year cheap and second year onwards they will increase your rate by 25% plus. Personal experience
I had this issue with my current carrier, liberty mutual, 40% increase first year and 60% second year, seems ridiculous to me
I have used renters insurance for years. They are usually the cheapest option for me. No problems
Cheap and easy to customize and purchase. Didn't claim but i see it's easy to claim.

the lowest insurance likely will match up with the lowest quality service and claim responsiveness ( for both home and also auto ins) ....many discount priced ins firms will drop the coverage or increse the premium at the first of 2nd claim
Lemonade insurance is probably the worst insurance anyone can have. The quality of service is extremely poor. Our claim has been open since dec 2022. Fast forward 8 months and still there is no signs of closure. We have been displaced from our home due to water damage and still living in a temporary rental property. Communication is pathetic. There is no person to speak to. There is only a generic email help@lemonade.com and god knows whether it lands on a spam folder somwhere. The communication channel is so poorly managed that the earliest we could speak to someone from insurance was after 2 weeks of the incident. Please do yourself a favor and switch out from lemonade. They are not available when you need them the most during claims. The paltry $ savings in premiums is not worth it.
I almost forgot about this post. So I ended up switching to lemonade. And just one month of switch got a big hail event, I file the claim within 3 days I got a response from them and within 1 week the adjuster came. After the inspection they send me the check for all the repairs within another week. I had question and they usually reply within 24 hours. Finally the amount was quite fair, now I'm in the middle of the repairs so hopefully the closure could be smooth too. I was worry about the reviews too but as for today I'm quite impressed by everything. Let's see how much they will jack the prices up since I have filed a claim ....
You must be lucky. How much was the claim amount? For us it has been 8 months in and still the adjuster has not visited the property. Ironically, lemonade is still paying rent for temporary accomodation since then. The only beneficiary so far has been the landlord who jacked up the rent amount from $3.5k to $8.5k per month. I had lemonade pet insurance before and what i have seen is they are OK with small claims ranging from a few hundred to few thousand dollars.
I used them because they are cheap. They are also super convenient to work with when it comes to signing the documents and providing all information. Now I never had a claim so I don’t know how good they are when it comes to assessing and covering the damages.
