Have anyone interviewed for this role? The recruiter gave me a very general description of this role and it sounds like doing engineering work for quant researchers. Is there any room for growth in this role? How easy it is to jump from a hedge fund to another later? #finance #interview #quant
This is actually a 2-3 year program where you will eventually promote to quant researcher. Think of it as a junior quant researcher, which is more appropriate. Did all the interviews - 1hr live coding + 1hr stats & finance theories + 1hr tech + 1hr behavioral The team lead for the behavioral round was majorly disrespectful. I flagged out that I have working knowledge in systematic trading and finance but he just said that my resume is too swe and he has no question to ask me. Asked me some machine learning things but he didn't know even what is normalization and standardization in pre-processing, which is a red flag if you ask me. Feedback was that I am skilled technically, but they prefer "someone with more academic research focus in finance or internship experience in finance" even tho they screened my resume. Major time waster for me.
Im sorry that you had that experience. Do you mind sharing where was the role you interviewed for based in?
