Ive been working for Intel as a PE. (YOE: 2 years) Ive been approached by TSMC and will be interviewing soon for a Module PE position at the new AZ Fab. My current TC is ~ 77K including bonuses which I feel is low balling considering the workload.. it sounds like TSMC is offering higher TC but for longer hours. Is it worth it in the long run to stay with Intel or should I take the TSMC offer (includes 18 months in Taiwan for training) if I get it...? I already work extra hours now its not unusual to work weekends/nights, so what would be best for my career? Any advice? Anyone working for TSMC who can offer insight on what its like? Thanks. #semiconductor #interview #tsmc #intel
What about GF?
What do you think might the TC look like? Did you get an offer? I have a PIE interview coming up soon.. Would love some pointers
I got an offer yesterday, took about a month from my last interview. TC is not bad given my background - much higher than what Intel is giving me. Base is 20K more than my current and with bonuses just at 6 fig. If I cant get Intel to match im taking it. Good luck hope you get a good offer!
Why leaving Intel for TSMC? You know TSMC (T stands for Taiwan) has zero diversity right? And you know diversity, according to so many studies from so many research and/or consultancy groups, are invaluable to the strength of a company, right? Why leaving from company with such a diverse culture to a company that does not value any diversity?
True but at the end of the day TSMC is offering me a much better compensation package than what I have with Intel- almost double. Diversity is nice but so is being paid fairly.
I got an offer from TSMC as well, and I declined
TSMC HQ is in Taiwan so the management is very Asian military style. It doesn't matter how skillful you are. Job level has its privilege.
Did you end up joining tsmc?

Serious question: why are Indian marriages arranged?
Work culture in TSMC Isn't any better if not worse. But there's higher potential of growth.
