I accepted an offer for a summer internship at Microsoft but recently received an invite to interview with Lyft Toronto. I wanted some advice if it was worth it to go forward with the process and possibly renege Microsoft. Does anyone have any comments about the culture/benefits at Lyft, the rate of return offers for interns, and what type of projects interns usually work on? Thanks
Lyft probably will allow you to learn a lot, but no guarantees on a return offer. MSFT ymmv in terms of learning, but return offer might be a bit more realistic there
Are these both for Canada?
Yea. Microsoft is remote and Lyft is in-office Toronto but the office isnt done yet so probably remote too
IMO being in-person for an internship is a million times better than virtual. Making relationships with the team, meeting other interns, and getting assistance from the team will all be way easier in-office
Definitely interview and keep your options open, you don’t have to decide and make any permanent decision right now
