Job market is brutal for SWEs 🥲
Hi I just graduated MS in US, with a lot of Compilers, Architecture & Systems skillset. I am getting numerous rejects from chip companies for AI compilers position (Amd nvidia qualcomm apple intel meta/google etc) Have good LLVM, MLIR, C++, Compilers projects Could someone help guide me? It’s a bloodbath out here for new grads. (I do have ~5 years of experience in Embedded, iOS dev & compilers) Open for feedback, details will be shared on DM Tc: 0 Interned at QC last summer: 52$/hr
Try OctoML and ByteDance
Already tried and rejects!
Have you considered writing your own oss compiler and raising capital for your own startup?
ARM
Hey, NYC office used to have a role open (was until January). Was called ML Compiler Engineer. Richard Lethin was the hiring manager. I found it on IOS Career Hub: go/ios/ Sounds perfect for you but seems gone now. But you can message Richard on LinkedIn, I visited the office (as I was interested) and they said they’re always looking for people who will fit
Not a QC employee anymore so no access to go/ios But yes sure will ping Richard on LN Thank you
So, WTF is a AI compiler? Does it use AI / machine learning to optimize the code?
Fancy term for progressive lowering AI workloads to dedicated hardware. xPUs. Cpu/gpu/asic/tpu/analog compute chips, etc
Try applying for Nvidia.
I have a backend compiler interview schedule on Tuesday @Nvidia 2 interviews on Deep Learning Compiler on Wednesday 1 company asked me to give a 120 minute compiler test this week
How was it ?
Wtf is AI compiler
Have you heard of AI? Believe it or not, these fantastic AIs are actually computer programs that run on *code* and *data*. Computer programmers create algorithms that process this data to create AI "models" with parameters called "weights", which are a function of the data. The code that process that data, as well as the code that runs the model, needs special compilation to run complex mathematics on hardware accelerators like GPUs. That special compilation is accomplished by custom AI compilers, like Google's XLA, or Apache TVM.
Yeah right. Seriously what is it?
