Anyone able to get a promotion via switching job? Specifically, anyone got into Google as M2 when they were only M1 at Meta? TC - $400k M1
Harder to do at Google, but you could get a more "inflated" title at smaller companies or that have lower pay bands (to match your pay expectations at higher level).
Hmm I would wait for apple to release the M2 MacBook Pro personally, but up to you
I heard M1 Pro/Max > M2 > M1.
thought they were talking about the apple chip for a second
Why do you want to leave Meta? Have you been M1 at Meta for a while and feel that you are stuck?
Hiring freeze. Managers are promoted based on team growth. Stuck with a team of 14. cannot even hire a manager and no one in the team is interested in becoming one.
Only been at Meta for 1.5 years. I was down leveled when I joined. I was a director in a public company, and managed manager of managers as well.
Ah sucks. Are you in a LCOL? TC looks low for M1. Or it’s because of stock dip?

What happens when most of your team is Indian?
You’ll be lucky to get L5 at google given how it down levels ppl.
Don't be such a Google worshipper. It's a good company but not as great as you think. If OP has a team of size 15+, they can lie their way to get a L7 manager interview
Microsoft's comment doesn't suggest Google worshipping at all.
