Suggestions for next steps in career

Hoping to get some tips / recommendations on what actions I should take next Background: I've been at MS for about 15 years now. I came in at L59 and now at L65 as an IC PM. I've got a clear path to lead position and enough scope to grow to L66 and beyond. The team I'm on and projects I'm helping drive are incredibly satisfying to me technically. I work with a ton of smart people and am happy to say I'm (usually) the least smart person in the room - a hallmark of a great learning environment. As of recent couple years, I've had a desire to work in another company. Another cloud based company where I can really excel and learn a ton (Google, FB, Amazon, etc...). But I'm worried it's for the wrong reasons (e.g. money or prestige) given where I'm at in my career and my path. In addition, I do have a family in the Seattle area with 2 kids. So WLB is quite important to me and I understand that at a certain point, to continue upward trajectory in a new company you need to put in hours and hours while you prove yourself . My question for all of you is if I should hang out at MS, get to L66, start earning some real cash AND get the M1 training or if i should consider jumping to another company knowing well that I'll lose the bulk of my network or hold out perhaps until I reach M1 or L66 even before moving? I just worry that there will never be a good time to leave... but again, I don't want to leave for the wrong reasons also. Advice would be awesome!

Jump the ship if you can. 15 years is already too long to stay at one company. If it does not work out, come back to MS with higher salary.

Not sure I agree with this. What does years have to do with it? I’ve seen people with 20 yrs at MS go to FB.

Don’t jump. When you jump ship , you always have to do ABC , before get to XYZ. With experience you need less and less time to do ABC, but you have to do it. If there is no dire reason, stay put at least wait till your kids are teenagers, and won’t like to spend time with parents as much.
