MBRDNA internship questions

Hey folks, looking for anyone at Mercedes - Benz R&D North America (or people who have interned there) to answer a few internship related questions. More specifically: What level of experience do they look for interns? Multiple past internships at Uber/Tesla/Cruise or any relevant experience? What is the general process? It seems positions are all through their portals and there seem to be quite a lot, but I am not getting as many responses from them as say Tesla. Are these gone through recruiters, then to hiring managers or directly to teams? Any immediate filters? Do they do visas, J1? I am Canadian but I wondered if they only do local hires. For background, I am Mechanical student, with 3 past internships, most of my experience being in hardware integration, controls/embedded, Simulink, FSAE. Would be just glad to chat with any full-time members in general.

How did you apply, any specific position? Visas are rarely done. The intern program targets primarily local candidates.

I applied to controls related positions. I believe one was epowertrain and another was powertrain intern. Is there a caliber of the applicant at which a Visa is done? A goal so to speak for me to work towards? I will be working for Tesla in summer, but still have 2 more coops to go. Would love to spend them at MBRDNA if I had a chance.
