I don’t get it. Sparkling water to my American taste buds tastes horrible. I almost want to spit it out. Does it actually taste good to you? Or is it an acquired taste? (Although I’ve had it numerous times I still cannot acquire a liking for it)
Take it with some acid. Makes it taste purple.
It’s an acquired taste. I used to really hate lacroix after trying it the first few times but one day it just clicked for me lol now I drink it whenever I’m bored of water
Same
How is it different to soda or beer or any other carbonated beverage?
No sugar or additives. Basically seltzer with minerals. Unless OP is referring to juice + sparkling water in which case its a mix of the two.
I for one still cannot acquire liking for jello salads or pan pizza you lot seem to adore on that side of the pond.
No one here actually likes jello salad. People in the 60's just thought it looked cool.
It’s because your taste buds are blown out by the massive quantities of sugar in most American beverages.
I only like certain brands like sparkling ice
I wouldn’t say I drink it because it tastes good, it’s just weirdly more refreshing and washes the palate better
Sparkling water is uninteresting. I only like Sparkling Apple Juice
Carbonic acid in any carbonated beverage has a flavor. The appeal of sparkling water is that it has more flavor than just regular water, while remaining zero calorie. And unlike an artificially sweetened drink like a diet cola, it's good for rehydrating. Appreciating the taste more was a matter of time in my experience.
Good description. Funny cartoon 😄
Are you an American working in Europe?
