Was laid off as a FTE. Took a Microsoft Contract so as not to touch my savings. TC fell from 270 to 150. Thought of being here for some time till I figure next steps. Now am reading Amazon is firing all Contractors. Is MS planning the same. Else need to start looking out again. Thanks #layoff , #interviews , #newjob @Microsoft, @Amazon
Contractors are not safe anywhere, it’s literally by design
How did you get MS contract jobs?
What option you have. Better to be in contract without job I would say keep searching new jobs after joining
Keep looking for fte job on the side
It all depends on how much vendor budget your team has. Lot of teams have been told to find savings and as a result can let contractors go. I would try to work on critical areas and be the best one among all contractors in your team..

BREAKING: Internal sources confirm another round of layoffs just hit emails at Tesla. For real.
Was a contractor at Microsoft until Late August when I was laid off in the first wave. I don’t think there are many safe spots atm, and I’d believe contractors even less so.
