Pony.ai basics?
Hi all — I’m thinking about an offer I got from Pony.ai in Fremont in infrastructure, software engineering. Does anyone have experience what their work culture is like? How many people work there even? Is it a good environment in general? Not a lot of info or discussion to get advice on this company so glad to hear any thoughts, thanks!

You never asked your interviewers this question about how many are working?
Almost 200 employees in Fremont and increasing. The work culture is not for everyone and your experience may vary based on the team you are in. Some teams are stellar , specially the infra team with most hires being ex google. Other teams are as bad as a team can get with lack of experienced leaders and general lack of direction. TC is competitive with the industry best , barring cruise that just overpays . Wlb is pretty bad generally. Hiring bar is pretty high(atleast for engineers) which also ends up hurting the Fremont office sometimes. A lot of star programmers working on exciting features and nobody wants to do the dirty work in the trenches. Great opportunity to learn from a great bunch of nerds if you can tolerate the small startup quirks. 如果您会说普通话会有所帮助

Salary in the low $200k, pretty low options offer (I don’t value those very much anyway given the industry). Hmm that link is just pure direction to pony’s own website, so not very revealing.
