Please advise. I am a recent graduate with a mechanical engineering degree. I'm currently working as a technical sales engineer for a company that offers industrial automation solutions. I would like to take the next step and pursue an MS in manufacturing engineering. My goal is to work in the manufacturing and later on in my career get into management. However, here is my dilemma. I don't have the flexibility to attend day courses which will exclude me from any scholarships or grants. My only option is an online program, but it's extremely expensive. However, here is where I need your advice. I am also an EU citizen and could qualify for a free/affordable online program from a European university. What do you guys think? My only concern is that a European degree will not be as appealing as a degree from US, especially from an online program. Any input and advice will be greatly appreciated! Also, hope that everyone is safe and healthy during these difficult times. #educationdynamics #engineeringmanagercomp #engineeringprogrammanager #tech #hardware #advisory #jobs #career #switch #help #academicpartnerships
You’re going to be hard pressed to get a job in manufacturing in the US without an American degree that will grant you OPT. That will be your only chance as there’s a ton of qualified Mech’s in the US who can be hired for manufacturing roles without needing a visa.
I should add. I’m a US citizen. And I got my undergrad from US as well
Oh then your fine! Depending on how much you’re willing to spend you can likely apply to the new edX online masters through Purdue in mechanical engineering. It’s total cost is $22.5k.
