I have an onsite at MSFT for SPM role in the Bing Ads Team with a focus on a/b testing, machine learning, and monetization. I already have an offer but I want to give MSFT my best shot and see if I can crack it. I have few questions. a) Can MSFT go up to 250-290( my other offer is 290K) . It’s a 64 role b) Can I work from Bay Area. I heard some new hybrid policy is coming up c) Any suggestions on how to prepare well for the bing org onsite for PM roles Thanks in advance for the help.
You should ask for 290k for L64 and 300k stocks. I have seen people get these at MS. Bing Ads is great to get experience in, lots of opportunities will open up with this experience. Bing unfortunately is the worst place to work in MS, so watch out for yourself from the day you start your job.
Thank you for both the pointers. Worst in terms for WLB? Layoffs ? Politics ? Career growth ? Thanks again
Spoke to my ex manager just now who is at MSFT for 10 yrs. He said the claim of bing org being is bad is exaggerated.
Well, ask him/ her to go work there before he says such things
I’m on the Bing team. I used to work at Amazon. I would rather work at Amazon than at Bing. I’m interviewing in other teams in MS, I hear it’s a lot better. Bing toxicity is real, you need to know how to manage it. I just got tired of it.
Thank you 🙏. Appreciate your candor. Hope you get what you want.
You too! Good luck with your interviews!
Mind sharing interview experience?
Huh. Have an onsite being set up soon. Will share later

For an L64, 290K is doable - maybe 10% higher for Bay Area. Dunno about Bing, but at least in our team, a couple of people are permanently working from Bay Area after the pandemic. Interviews are team specific, but in general, I’d guess it’ll be a combination of product design & improvement, system design, and behavioral questions. Good luck!!
