This is super funny. RBC had an “innovation” summit with Noelle Walsh, Val Walsh (not sure if they are family!!!), and Jennifer Weitzel. This was in Chicago - never mind that people can’t travel for their jobs at MSFT - but CVPs can travel business class between Boston and Chicago - but I digress. Let’s talk about innovation - I am unsure what exactly these three have innovated - I checked - the number of patents compiled by this trio - that’s easy ZERO - I hope these three keep winning innovation awards. This tells you A LOT about how clueless the data center industry really is!!!! Good riddance you clowns - make sure you wear your noses and clown shoes for the next award presentation or summit!!!!
You don’t understand how a company works do you.
Clearly I don’t. While AWS is launching satellites, these three are “innovating”.
Take a step back— over the last year or two msft has upped the competition vs aws significantly. Let’s not look to aws for innovation— they’ve completely slept on the genAI train that’s going to be significant revenue. Their layoffs have been crazy. Exec innovation meetings is a standard part of the selling process. No, you don’t need patent holders, or L61 engineers who can change the world
MSFT doesn’t innovate - you work for LinkedIn, ask yourself why you use collocation vs. home built data centers. MSFT BUYS it’s innovation (AI at MSFT is an effort between openAI and openAI), nothing internal INCLUDING the development of the hardware. Also, LinkedIn uses a pretty innovative, completely scalable bare metal design, now you are being asked to migrate to Azure - how’s that working? Also, if you look at the cloud data, you’ll see that azure is actually LOSING ground to all other cloud providers not GAINING. With data, I could likely school you in a discussion. I work in this sh*t hole place and it is painful watching the likes of ScottGu and Noelle stumble through technical data. They pay me a ton of money to “opine”!!!!

Modi is a legend, will be remembered for centuries to come
I was at a RBC branch today looking at their ads. Appearently they reinvented the electric car to be uglier. Not sure how the thing was designed but I want what they are smoking.
