Hi all, Still on the fence about using a vacation day for this, but I might interview at MSFT for a level 62 position. Current TC 200. SDE II. Is an offer of 240 at that level even possible? Recruiter says they'll "work with me", but I don't want to waste anyone's time. Pretty sure I don't want to leave Amazon for MS if it's going to be less than 240.
Pretty sure MSFT will pay that much for a good AMZN hire. Really great deal considering our benefits package. I remember seeing a Blind post with a MSFT poaching offer that was in the 200s for a SDE2 Makes me mad quite honestly
What do SDE2s at Microsoft make?
Dude, I'm right there with you. My TC is low compared to others because I've been here for 6 years. You only significantly move TC by promotion, or moving companies. I wouldn't even be looking if they kept my salary competitive. It's kind of bullshit. I started out as sys eng, then sde I, then sde II. Other option is to stick it out for a few more years waiting for promo.
My TC at 61 was around 150k but I'm pretty sure I was underpaid. I doubt you will get 240 at MSFT unless you are top of band consistently.
Good info! Thank you! Hope to make it to Google someday. :)
Amazon to Google is easier than MSFT to Google, imo. Microsoft really is a country club and you WILL get complacent there unless you very actively manage your career. Lovely company and no regrets from me, but not the ivory tower it is often seen as.
FYI, my offer for 61 was 165k. I doubt 62 would have 240.
There's no chance you can get close to 240k. Don't waste time
Sounds good! I'll take some extra time to grow a few more skills I've been lacking. I'll be able to hit that number eventually somewhere.
No way you can target 63
4 yoe, I got 200 for 62. I think that’s the most recruiter was able to offer.
I'm at 200 on level 61. It should be possible depending on how well you do in the interview.
Oh, wow! I'll give it a shot, then! Worst case scenario is I stay here and lose a vacation day.
What? Are you including ssa or somethin into your tc?
