MSFT performance increased Income, disqualifying me from Tesla rebate!
So I happily bought a Tesla. My Base comp is 200k and wife's not earning. (Sad face). Household income is less than max limit for qualifying for rebate. But last years 25% grant of my total RSU came on the W2 (as expected) and so my total gross Income, thanks to MSFT performance, was more than the cap of 300k. (adding line 1-5 of 1040) I know this is temporary since it is the 4th yr of my initial grant. Can I still get the 2500 rebate from California because this hike is only temporary and my usual income is well within the cap?

And this is why we need the wealthy to pay their equal share of taxes. Coz the more they make, the more greedy they get
300k doesn’t take your far in the Bay Area if you want to live a good house and have children. 300k might be quite wealthy elsewhere, but not in the Bay. In fact 250k household income will qualify you for low income housing subsidy in Palo Alto.
It's less than 1% of the person's entire income but still worried and concerned that it's lost because of another indirect monetary gain. Tell me if this isn't greedy. It's not even money lost for work done!!
