What’s happening? Microsoft restricts employee access to OpenAI's ChatGPT https://www.cnbc.com/2023/11/09/microsoft-restricts-employee-access-to-openais-chatgpt.html?__source=iosappshare%7Ccom.apple.UIKit.activity.CopyToPasteboard
They want to use bing search instead of chatgpt.
Source?
Isn’t bing search powered by ChatGPT anyway? I think they refer to internal access resctriction, it’s different if via Bing
Bing is that desperate for users 😂

Employees got even lazier perhaps. Or everyone got buried in 10 page docs where 1 page would do previously. Or they'd rather have you use Github copilot.
Microsoft doesn’t want to end up as google, where their employees use someone else’s product. Not that this will help accomplish it
Which product?
For Microsoft, it’s bing (gpt). For google, it’s bard.

Trouble in paradise?
they just want us to M365 chat enterprise (this is slightly different than the consumer bing chat). even with the partnership, they have no control over the data with openAi. with M365 chat they have all the control
I've found the M365 chat enterprise quite helpful. Having the context of Microsoft data makes it more interesting than plain Chat GPT. Also, this is a good way to dogfood it; this is what we are selling to all the companies for top dollars, so it better works well!
Yep there’s an internal version of chatgpt (gpt 3.5) which employees are supposed to use. Else we’re sending private/confidential data to a public version of gpt
