Maybe this is Intuit’s way of getting rid Mailchimp employees
It's true. Basically the MC coverage technically ended before Intuit coverage started, but they kindly let folks know that they'd being retroactively reimbursed for any out of pocket costs. I know a few MC employees, and one of them is being treated for a chronic illness (let's call him Eric). Erik's monthly treatment (think like a chemo infusion) costs well over $10K out of pocket. He had to cancel his treatment session bc he wasn't prepared to pay that and bc the hospital requires pre authorization from insurance to administer the treatment. He then had to spend hours on the phone with Intuit to try to get his insurance ID so that he could then spend hours on the phone with the insurance company and the hospital to get his treatment covered and rescheduled. Another person cancelled a surgery they'd already had to wait months for. It's really fucked up that they're acting like it's no big deal since they informed people that they would be reimbursed. That's easy to say when you aren't the one who has to figure out how to suddenly cover 5 figures of medical care upfront.
Fuck that's so sad
