Make the Model 3 the new low priced car.
And build a Model 5 that’s more premium but the same price as the previous Model 3 Performance at ~$53k. Drop all the expensive packages of the Model 3 and put it into the Model 5. Apple did it with the iPhone 8 as it made it the new iPhone SE. The Model 3 is still a great car but it’s getting stale. The low price of the Model 3 will cannibalize the Model 2 before it even gets delivered.
There likely is no model 2 and will likely launch lower trim of model 3 to offer cheaper car mentioned in earnings release. Problem with model 3, model x/y is that while they look good when they came out after you see everywhere it starts looking old & dated. It’s not a design that holds well with time (remember Neon).
No one cares about Evs anymore... It's a much smaller market than most ppl imagine and it's totally saturated. A cheaper ev doesn't change the dynamics unless it's less than 10k which is impossibly

i just bought a tesla and know multiple people who just bought this year as well. I don’t know how you can make such definitive blanket predictive statements like that without feeling like you’re lying. Sure EV sales slowed this year. But interest rates are also at a decades high so that prevents people from buying. The current car fleet in the US might also be at a local minimum in terms of number of people needing to get a new car because their current car has years left in it. When these people look to upgrade, they may choose EV. The point is, what you’re saying could be true, but you cannot know for a fact. You don’t have statistics or data to make such statements
