🥳 happy new year I am planning to slowly move to management track this year. Those who moved from IC to management, what trainings, coaching from mentors, coursera courses or books found useful and impactful for your career. Do you have mentors like your old managers etc? Or are you guys just learning mainly from day to day work? Tc 460k
Imagine learning that your manager become a manager because they just took some coursera courses 💀
All teamblind posts have 50% useless replies like this.
As opposed to not even doing that. Which is 95% of the managers.
There are many books and videos on leadership. Just search for leadership related courses, lots to learn . You definitely can learn how to become a good manager via reading and studying but also practice is important ofc!!!
A pretty good book I read many years ago was “Your in Charge, Now What “ good advice in there , worth a read
I read leadership books, spoke with lots of people to gather perspective, did self reflection, and learnt to apply those learnings
Hi, do you recommend few books?
Making of a Manager. It's a really good book.
Empathy is the key.
You think coursera will help you move from IC4 to a M1?
I am not sure. Heard ppl recommending coursera for ml intro . Also saw few google managers mentioning coursera management related coursera in their linkedin profile
