Been roughly a month since I joined this company as a senior sde, I have not had a single one on one with my manager despite attempting to schedule it a few times. I understand people can be busy but multiple declines and no attempt to find an agreeable time raises red flags ? Am I over thinking it, any tips or pointers ? Or is my only option to start leet coding again and find a new place. PS: Not at Amazon
Donβt worry. 1:1 are meant for managers to give you feedback. If heβs not engaged you can skip it until end of qtr
Also he could be on his way out so doesn't really want to waste time π
Lol
Manager is leaving
This. I switched teams and was promoted. Manager is not interested in any new joiners ' orientation. I know he is leaving.
Definitely sounds like they're leaving
I guess it's fine unless you really really need it?
Yes your manager is going out. He doesn't care about following 1:1s and all anymore.
Maybe your manager is on PIP and is looking at leaving?
Meet your skip.
When ever this happened to me the manager was leaving and dint care much. I recommend subtly approaching skip manager
After 1:1s both get dissatisfied, whatβs the heck, no fun..
If they have an admin talk to them directly, not Skype not email face to face
Does not have an admin , but yeh i will try to be more explicit when I run into the manager that I definitely need a one on one...
Ask if they can meet for coffee before the day starts or during lunch. If they wont meet, ask your skip level for a 1:1 and copy your manager ;)
