I feel my manager does not defend me well with higher-ups and/or cross teams and try to malign my image behind my back. My yoe is similar to my manager. Once in 1:1, he mentioned about some complaints from other teams which dint seem believable to me. I also did some work which was supposed to mention in some department level meeting. He dint mention that. When others did similar work, it was mentioned but they had different managers. It has been months, I am observing this behavior. I am concerned of my annual bonus etc as that is directly connected to manager feedback. Dint do any skip level as such since I am not sure if that is the trend in my company or not. Skip level does not give me a vibe that I can go ahead and schedule 1:1 with them. Probably they also dint get good feedback from my manager so not have much interest. Sounds like you overreacting. No indication here manager is undermining you. Idk why people are saying change teams because your manager didn’t talk you up in a meeting?
