About a month or two ago, there was a Blind post saying Pinterest managers would have to mark 10% of their reports as low performers. Did this end up happening? Or was it a false rumor? #pinterest #pip #layoffs

I don’t know anyone personally effected, but internal blind is full of posts by people effected. And this policy is real, to put 10% on pip, I can confirm that.
Are the affected people given a chance to improve, or is their termination already decided?
Let’s just say, people are hopeless about this situation, it seems already decided. Maybe it’s a one time thing, to remove slackers, but I’m not a manager.
The PIPs might be just for eng org. I know of people who were not on PIP, had good ratings, and were part of the recent layoff.
Haven’t heard anyone got PIP for last 6 months.
