Mastercard offer evaluation
Got offer from Mastercard for senior role. Been at msft for less than a year. Interviewed due to rolling regular layoffs at msft in recession. Not sure if jumping is best idea. On h1b. I think col adjusted tc is same. I think mc has lots of contractors as shield fte TC 175K Redmond sde 2 Mastercard TC 140K o Fallon Missouri
O'fallen is much cheaper than Redmond. Consider a 2 BR apartment in o'fallen is 1000-1200 whereas in redmond it is 25k. Also, life is much better with less harsh weather, cheap nightlife and clubs. However, Mastercard is more of an IT company and not as cool as Square/paypal/affirm etc. The upward movement is also slow.
When I checked seemed like o Fallon rent was climbing too. Like saw one bedroom at 1.3K
How were the interviews at Mastercard? Do they ask Leetcode?
